More Illinois gun control fail.

via thegunwire

Chicago Sun Times: Felon charged with selling 47 guns to federal informant

A convicted felon is charged in federal court with illegally supplying 47 guns to an informant who secretly recorded the transactions on the South Side.

But, but, it's illegal for a felon to receive or posses a firearm. "WE NEED STRONGER LAWS" the antis cry. I never did understand this 'stronger laws' thing. Do you change the law to read "it's extra illegal for a felon to posses a firearm"? No, what the antis mean is that they want MORE laws. What we have here is a prohibited person that didn't follow the law. Not only did he not follow one law, but he failed to obey MORE laws. You see, in Illinois, before taking possession of a firearm, the potential buyer must posses a firearm owner identification card (FOID).

OMG Common sense in Ilinios

via gunwire

WJBC the voice of central Illinois is reporting that a Concealed carry bill passes Illinois House committee.

State Rep. Brandon Phelps, D-Harrisburg, is again leading the charge as he has for years. His measure would allow Illinois residents with the proper training and permits to carry a concealed firearm.

What the 'proper' training and permits is yet to be seen, but hey it's a start.

To an opponent that said "more guns equal more violence." State Rep. Brandon Phelps, D-Harrisburg said:

“We’re the only state,” he says. “If it was so bad why are there no other states trying to repeal this? It works. Crime has gone down everywhere this has gone into effect. So why are we the only ones?”

Hell to the yeah, bitches. Then, this bit of common sense comes out of his mouth:

“The presidents of the colleges have said they don’t want any form of concealed carry on their campuses. So that’s fine, but if they disarm that person that has a permit, and something happens like at Northern Illinois with the shooting, then they’re going to get the liability,” he says.

But what about Chicago? Well here it is.

The bill would pre-empt local ordinances in home-rule communities such as Chicago...

Next thing you know, they'll be passing some type of constitutional carry bill. This is great news for Illinois.
